The Shahjehan S Karim Incubation Center (SSKIC) hosted a workshop titled Essentials of Startup Launches with Guest Coach Mr. Sheikh Hammad Amjad on August 20, 2022. Mr. Hammad is a seasoned entrepreneur with years of experience launching and managing startups as well as coaching startups across Pakistan.
The session focused on understanding the fundamentals of business models and hands-on exercises with building a business’ Business Model Canvas and a fun engaging exercise titled the Marketing Canvas. The full day event was filled with active discussions and exercises to empower the participants with tools to better position their startups for future success and avoid threats that they may not have identified.
Startups for the event included SSKIC’s incubated cohort and from its partner universities from the Sindh Business Incubation Centers Consortium:
ThaliHelp (providing a one-window solution to patients of Thalassemia)
Elecnovate (protecting bikers through the integrated use of technology in their helmets)
Sehatlings (a marketplace for diagnostic labs to create a culture of support for doctors, patients, and labs)
Carol Technologies (An IoT startup that is solving water conservation and measurement through their branded technology Aquee)
AageBarho (a youth-focused startup that will assist with project hunting and creating students’ digital profile to get jobs faster). The founders participated in the training raising relevant questions and sharing their business’ vision and aspirations.
Dr. Seema Ansari, Advisor to the Rector and mentor to Elecnovate, was also in attendance for the session. The session was hosted at the SSK Center for Excellence and is the first of many planned training sessions open to the alumni, students, faculty, and entrepreneurs of the IoBM family. The session closed with the memento awarding ceremony by Burhan A Saiyed, Head of the Incubation Center.
